Yale Medicine’s Department of Anesthesiology is dedicated to providing the highest quality anesthesia care to both children and adults. We treat about 30,000 patients a year. We provide pain management care to patients before, during and after surgery, working with doctors in a variety of clinical specialties. We care for patients undergoing a wide range of procedures, whether they are healthy or gravely ill. We are dedicated to providing cutting-edge, safe and short-acting anesthetic medications. Our highly specialized emergency staff at Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital are available around the clock to provide care for life-threatening or acute illnesses and injuries for adults and children. Our physicians are all board-certified in emergency medicine and also treat flare-ups of chronic illness. Our Yale New Haven Hospital location is a designated Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma facility, the first and only hospital in the state with this status.
