Dr. Alan Dardik is a surgeon-scientist who seeks to use the power of molecular biology to achieve a modern understanding of vascular disease, and to use the basic science laboratory to perform cutting edge research to ultimately benefit patients with vascular disease. Dr. Dardik trained at Yale, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Johns Hopkins Hospital before his appointment to the Yale faculty in 2001.

Dr. Dardik concentrates his clinical practice in vascular surgery at the VA Connecticut where was formerly the Chief of the Vascular service for 8 years, performing the full range of vascular procedures and focusing on the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. Dr. Dardik has recently edited several textbooks of surgery, including Outpatient Surgery. Clinical decision making and board review (Radcliffe 2012), Vascular Surgery: A Global Perspective (Springer 2017), and Vascular Diseases for the Non-Specialist (Springer 2017).

Dr. Dardik has won several teaching awards:
